What kids worry about in 2020

Lock down reading for the whole family

There are many things that we need to teach our children and while we have them at home more than ever we can spend time on important things.

We found this book (What A Waste: Rubbish, Recycling, and Protecting our Planet What a Waste that we thought helped talk about the environment . It shows where we are getting it wrong BUT also what we are doing right!

Almost everything we do creates waste, from litter and leftovers to factory gases and old gadgets. Find out where it goes, how it affects our planet and what we can do to reduce the problem.

It covers things from how to make your home more energy and water efficient, to which items can be recycled. It’s full of ideas on how you can get involved to make our planet a better place to live.

For the younger kids in I can save the earth they can follow Max the Little Green Monster on his journey to environmental awareness and learn tips on how they can become little green monsters themselves. There is a simpler glossary of terms in the back of the book.

And for the adults…

We all know environmental issues are at the forefront of global politics but it can be overwhelming to get to grips with what we can do. The desire to make small changes on an individual level is on the rise and this book can guide those who want to make a difference, but probably don’t know where to begin. We found Sustainable Home.
